CBA Member Mark - FAQs

Who can use the CBA Member Mark?

The CBA Member Mark may be used by CBA members in good standing (i.e. who are current on CBA dues) who have completed the CBA Member Mark License Agreement, and agree to follow the terms and conditions of use.


Who can use the CBA Member Firm Mark?

The CBA Member Firm Mark may be used by firms that meet the following requirements: (1) maintain an office in Colorado; (2) all Colorado based attorneys at the firm are CBA members in good standing (i.e. current on CBA dues); and (3) have completed the CBA Member Firm Mark License Agreement and agree to follow the terms and conditions of use.

Where can I put the CBA Member Mark and CBA Member Firm Mark?

The CBA Member Mark and the CBA member Firm Mark may only appear on the following and only in connection with the provision of legal services:

Business Cards
Letterhead
Envelopes
Signage at a member's office/building
Web pages
Print and electronic advertising
Email signatures

The use of the CBA Member Mark or CBA Member Firm Mark on other materials is not allowed absent the prior express written consent of the CBA.  Please contact the CBA marketing department with any such requests or proposals.

Can I use the CBA Member Mark or CBA Member Firm Mark in advertisements regarding non-legal services?

No, the CBA Member Mark is not allowed in the advertising of non-legal services, including but not limited to political campaigns.


How must the CBA Member Mark and CBA Member Firm Mark appear?

The CBA Member Mark and CBA Member Firm Mark must be used in strict conformity with the specifications of the CBA Member Mark Style Guide. The CBA Member Mark and CBA Member Firm Mark may be reproduced only in the approved format. The logo should never be altered, modified, or re-configured in any way. All elements of the logo must be used in the layout presented.  The dimensions must remain the same and the logo may not be stretched or reshaped.

How do I begin using the CBA Member Mark or CBA Member Firm Mark?

If you are a CBA Member in good standing, please make sure you are logged in to the CBA website to access the CBA Member Mark and Firm Mark License Agreements.

You will need to complete the agreement and submit the executed signature page to the CBA by:

  • Mail to Colorado Bar Association, c/o Communications, 1290 Broadway, Suite 1700, Denver, CO 80203
  • Scan and email to Heather Martinez with "Member Mark" in the subject line

Please make sure to include your email address on the agreement so that we can send you confirmation and the CBA Member Mark files.


Can the CBA Member Mark License Agreement be terminated?

Yes. Failure to pay CBA dues (or other basis for loss of member in good standing status), misuse of the CBA Member Mark or CBA Member Firm Mark, or breach of the License Agreement will terminate the license.
