2. Calendar of Events

a. Legal Nights: March 15 at Mi Casa; April 6 at Centro San Juan Diego; April 19 at Mi Casa.

i. We always need volunteers for these events. They don’t take up much time and offer free pizza!

b. Greeley Legal Nights: March 22, May 4, July 26, September 27

i. Volunteers usually carpool for this event. We are looking into group transportation to attend these. Email Courtney Butler if you are interested.

c. SSLC Happy Hour: Possibly April 14, 2016 (to be confirmed)

i. This event is pending budget discussions with the CBA and CHBA.

d. SSLC Volunteer Appreciation Event: March 30, 2016 (please RSVP by March 11)

i. We currently have 25 attendees and would love to see more attendees.

e. Note: May SSLC meeting date changed to Tuesday, May 10 at noon.

i. This will be the last SSLC meeting for this year. We will revisit whether we should have meetings before happy hours, or hold happy hours at the CBA offices, or alternate between holding happy hours at the CBA offices/off-site. We may take a hiatus from happy hours for the summer. Any ideas are welcome.

3. San Luis Valley Legal Fair

a. Jessie Rehms has contacts in this area, but we will not be holding the event this spring, perhaps in the fall or next spring. Any contacts and ideas are welcome.

4. REFORMA 2016 Mini-Conference Proposal – Conference on May 6, 2016

a. This is a conference for librarians. We submitted a proposal to talk about legal nights and FAQs about the SSLC, but it turned out that REFORMA really wanted immigration presentations. The leader of the conference contacted Courtney and the other submitters to request that we all combine our resources into one presentation, which will be a Q&A based on immigration law. Courtney will provide an intro on the SSLC and provide a handout on legal nights, etc.

5. CLE based on Webinar

a. Roberto and Courtney are still working on planning this event. It may be in the summer or fall but a date has not been selected yet. The CLE will be on the subject of comparative Mexican law.

6. Presentation by Carlos Duarte Vega

a. This will likely be on April 20, 2016 at DU from approx. 7:30-9PM.

b. Mr. Vega is a Mexican law professor and lawyer. Courtney will send out a blurb on the presentation when she receives it. The DU SSLA is working to find budget for snacks to encourage attendance.

7. Outreach to Local Students

a. One idea is DACA workshops. Any other ideas are welcome.

8. Other Business

a. The Board will meet to discuss budget from the CBA and CHBA for the remainder of the year.
