Cecil is a shareholder and director in the firm of Pendleton Friedberg Wilson & Hennessey in Denver. Cecil graduated from the New York University School of Law, has been in practice for more than 25 years, and is a member of the California and Colorado bar associations. His practice emphasizes complex civil litigation and arbitration, mainly in the areas of securities, business, and commercial law.

Cecil also has specializes in legal ethics and attorney discipline defense. Among other activities, Cecil is currently a member of the Standing Committee on the Rules of Professional Conduct of the Colorado Supreme Court and the Conduct Committee of the United States District Court for the District of Colorado. He has been an active member of the Ethics Committee of the Colorado Bar Association for almost 15 years, and was chair of the committee from 2004 to 2005. In addition, Cecil writes and lectures frequently on issues of legal ethics.
