CFIs and CLRS: Advanced Family Law Update
Four members of the subcommittee which developed the Child and Family Investigator Standards will discuss difficult, but realistic, ethical situations and how the Standards might be applied in your practice. The panel will provide a brief overiew of the developmental process and the intent of the Standards, discuss areas that have presented some difficulties in their application, and respond to questions from the participants concerning the eighteen Standards and the six Court obligations in Chief Justice Directive 04-08. The afternoon program will focus upon the unique role of the Child Legal Representative, how it differs from that of the Guardian ad Litem, and how the CLR can be an effective advocate for the child's best interests in a domestic relations case.
