This CLE will address serving a defendant located outside the United States pursuant to the Hague Service Convention. It will examine the purpose, history and applicability of the Hague Service Convention, as well as the available methods of service under the Convention. It will also consider available substituted service methods and include a discussion of the Colorado Supreme Court's sole opinion on this topic, Willhite v. Rodriguez-Cera.
