Title: “Juvenile Law Practitioners Court Room Decorum: The Dos and Don'ts - As Told By Your Beloved Judicial Officers”
Ever wonder what your judicial officer thinks of your court room performance? Would you like to know their perspective on how to be more effective? What causes a judge to stop listening to your argument? How much background (fluff) is too much? Does the judge really care if you're a few minutes late to hearings or few days late filing pleadings? If so, will it be held against you or your client? Do judges have court room pet peeves? This is juvenile law … do you really need to know the Rules of Evidence or CRCP? Should you stand on your head to get the court's attention? Who should you emulate: Clarence Darrow, Atticus Finch, Gerry Spence, Gloria Allred or … yourself?Speakers: Judge Brett Woods
from Denver Juvenile Court, Judge Bonnie McLean
from the 18th
Judicial District and Judge F. Michael Goodbee
from Adams County District Court are excited to share their witty and candid thoughts, experiences and wisdom regarding these questions and many more.
