A Legal and Policy Dialogue With the Attorney General's Office and the State Engineer
The Water Law Section of the CBA has organized a meeting for water law practitioners to hold a dialogue with the AG's office and the SEO on topics of recent concern in water practice. In particular, some members of the Water Bar have raised questions about the legal and policy positions taken by the State in various cases involving changes of previously quantified water rights, speculation in change cases and related issues. State Engineer Dick Wolfe and First Assistant A.G. Paul Benington have agreed to meet with interested members of the Water Bar to discuss these issues.
This dialogue will be held on Thursday, April 10, 2014, starting at 1:30 p.m. in the Large Classroom of the Colorado Bar Association offices, Third Floor, 1900 Grant Street, Denver, CO.
Because the discussion will be primarily legal in nature, the meeting is targeted primarily at water attorneys. However, water engineers and representatives of water rights owners also are welcome to attend.
There will be no charge for attending, and the meeting will also be available by webcast, however, the webcast audience will not be able to ask questions as will the live audience.
Although there is no charge for this meeting, we ask that you register for purposes of event specific communication: http://www.cobar.org/cle/item.cfm?eventid=WATERTALK041014.
