In 2006 and 2007 Colorado enacted the most sweeping reform to Colorado's public trustee foreclosure law since the recodification of the foreclosure law in 1990. While a few provisions are already in force, the bulk of this new legislation goes into effect on January 1, 2008.
With large-scale changes to the law about to go into effect, both new and experienced practitioners will benefit from this comprehensive program on Colorado foreclosure law! Our program includes coverage of more than just the public trustee foreclosure laws: You will also receive guidance on critical foreclosure-related issues, such as bankruptcy, judicial foreclosure, and foreclosure alternatives.
The program begins with almost 2 hours of focused coverage of Colorado's public trustee foreclosure system. Our instructors then provide a detailed review of both the Rule 120 public hearing requirements and how a bankruptcy affects a foreclosure. The afternoon begins with a discussion of an alternative to public trustee foreclosure: Judicial foreclosure. When is judicial foreclosure necessary - or preferable? How do we get in and out of court most efficiently? Find out! The next topic segment addresses common tax lien issues that affect foreclosures. Our program concludes with a discussion of important alternatives to a foreclosure: Deeds in lieu of foreclosure and workouts. Find out how these alternatives work and when to consider using them.
All of our faculty members are experienced experts in Colorado foreclosure law. Our faculty also includes attorneys who helped to draft the new foreclosure legislation!
