Boulder County Combined Courts introduce Court Information Center, Small Claims Clinic

BOULDER, Colo. – The Boulder County Combined Courts announced today the start of a new, free resource to help self-represented litigants in non-criminal court proceedings.

The Court Information Center can provide self-represented litigants with information about court procedures and logistics, assist in selecting the correct forms and instructions on how to complete forms, and provide information about educational sessions and materials.  The Center coordinator also serves as a liaison to refer self-represented individuals to additional options within and outside the court system, including information about community resources and services.

The Court Information Center is located in the main Clerk of Court’s office at the Boulder Justice Center.  The Center is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for walk-ins and phone calls, or by appointment.  The Center is closed daily from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. for lunch and the Coordinator is not available on Wednesday afternoons or Thursday mornings.

Self-represented litigants also will have a new resource for assistance with small claims cases. The Small Claims Clinic is a joint effort of the 20th Judicial District and local attorneys and is an opportunity for self-represented litigants to gain information about the Small Claims process and ask questions. The Clinic will be held the first and third Tuesdays of each month, beginning March 4, 2014, from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Boulder Justice Center, in the Jury Assembly Room.

For more information, about the Court Information Center or the Small Claims Clinic in English or Spanish, contact Christine Fleetwood, the Self-Represented Litigant Coordinator, at or 303-441-4741.
