Committees & Departments ![]() Law Day 2005 Presented by the DBA Young Lawyers Division, this year’s Law Day program is "The American Jury: We the People in Action," May 4, noon, at the Warwick Hotel, 17th & Grant St. Speaker is Judge H. Jeffrey Bayless, Denver District Court. Cost is $25 and includes lunch. Call-in is available for $10. One general CLE Credit applied for. Roll Out the Barrels — April 25–May 6 The sixth annual "Roll Out the Barrels Food Drive" for the Food Bank of the Rockies is April 25–May 6. The DBA’s CAN Committee will drop off a barrel at your firm or office. Just fill it with non-perishable food items (or cash donations) and the committee will pick it up. There will be a donation competition by firm size (1–20, 21–60, 61–100, 101–150 and 151+ employees). If you’d like to participate, contact Kari Brandt at kbrandt@cobar.org.

Barristers Benefit Ball Each year, selected attorneys are honored at the Denver Bar Foundation’s Barristers Benefit Ball for their extraordinary efforts and dedication to pro bono legal services. The 2005 Honorees: Jon Bradley has been an MVL volunteer attorney since 1990. He has taken on more than 30 real estate and consumer issue assignments from MVL. He also has acted as a mentor for new attorneys. An MVL volunteer since 1989, Rocco Dodson has accepted in excess of 30 consumer issues case assignments from MVL. He was the pro bono firm coordinator for Fairfield & Woods and is a member of MVL’s Governing Board. He has acted as a mentor to law students through MVL’s Mentor/Mentee Evening Division Program. The firm honoree is Frie, Arndt & Danborn. James Arndt has been an MVL volunteer since 1991, accepting numerous family law case assignments as well as consumer and real estate issues. Paul Danborn has been with MVL since 1994. He assists clients through the FLCP program and also accepts many family law case assignments. Robert Frie has assisted clients with real estate issues and “is always willing to help when needed.” He has been an MVL volunteer attorney since 1991.
