The DBA Seniors Committee will hold its annual golf tournament on Wednesday, July 27, at the Homestead Golf Course, 11500 W. Hampden Ave. An informal lunch is at noon, with tee-off around 1 p.m. Cost is $45, and includes greens fees, cart, prizes and lunch.

Law Week Jury Appreciation

The DBA Bench Bar Committee worked with the Jury Commissioner to arrange many activities during Law Week. The Mayor made a proclamation honoring and thanking all jurors. Chief Justice Mary Mullarkey also spoke. Elementary students made colorful thank-you notes that decorated the jury room walls. Jurors were offered food (provided in part by YLD), restaurant discounts, museum admission and commemorative gifts in appreciation of their service.
The committee also organized a high school speech competition on the topic of the importance of juries, with a $250 cash prize. The Young Lawyers Division judged the competition.
