Random Findings ![]() From the Courts
A blast from the Denver Bench past... This wonderful historic photo, complete with autographs, finally found its way to The Docket offices after a conversation about Denver history between a couple of old friends. The Hon. Larry Bohning sent in the photo, which was gifted to him by the Hon. Field Benton, a retired Denver municipal judge and former probate court judge. Believed to be photographed during the first half of 1959, the judges surrounding Denver Mayor William "Will" F. Nicholson during his final months in office include, from left to right: pioneering Judge James Flannigan, Judge William Conley, Judge William Burnett, Judge Sherman Finesilver, Judge Gerald McAuliffe, Judge Henry Santo, Judge George McNamara, Judge Paul Hodges, Judge John Sanchez, Judge Field Benton and Judge Robert Fullerton. ________________________________________________________________________________ An e-mail forwarded to Docket readers This chain of e-mail correspondence somehow made it all the way to The Docket’s inbox! WHO EVER PLACED THIS IN THE FREEZER, PLEASE COME CLEAN UP THE FROZEN BLOOD. IT IS REALLY DISGUSTING! THX. L. [name omitted] — REPLY ALL — From: Judge B Subject: RE: DEAD BIRD PARTS IN 4TH FLOOR FREEZER That’s from a cruelty-to-animals case that we recently had. We were asked to preserve the DNA evidence under the new statute, pending the appeal which So-and-So staff member [5th floor law clerk, name omitted] says could take up to 5 years. In any event, we’ve now moved the evidence to our fifth floor fridge. It’s on top of the pop tarts. – Judge B — FORWARD — From: Judge R Subject: RE: DEAD BIRD PARTS IN 4TH FLOOR FREEZER Modern life! — REPLY — From: Denver staff member VM Subject: RE: DEAD BIRD PARTS IN 4TH FLOOR FREEZER Classic!
