Weinstein

Denver trademark/copyright attorney David Weinstein reviewed and provided comments to the Republic of Rwanda on its law for the protection of intellectual property in connection with the Business Climate Legal and Initiative Reform project.

Rothgerber Johnson & Lyons is pleased to announce that partner Richard K. "Dick" Clark was honored with the Pioneer Award from the Japan America Society of Colorado.

Nida

Christina Nida, a Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck shareholder, was recently named to Denver Film Society’s board of directors. Eric M. Vinton, an associate with the firm, was named to the newly formed Sports for A Cause, Inc.

board of directors. Norman Brownstein received the Arthur B. Lorber Award for Distinguished Service at the Beaux Arts Ball gala on Feb. 21 in Denver. The event raises funds for National Jewish Health, the nation’s number one respiratory hospital.

 

CHANGES

University of Denver Sturm College of Law Dean José Roberto (Beto) Juárez announced he will step down as dean effective July 1 to dedicate more time to scholarship and teaching. Juárez has been DU’s law dean since 2006. He plans to spend the 2009–2010 academic year engaged in research and travel before returning to the Sturm College of Law in the fall of 2010 as a member of the faculty.

Hensley Kim & Holzer announced the addition of Aaron P. Bradford. Bradford’s national trial practice focuses on complex commercial, product liability, professional liability, mass tort and intellectual property litigation. The firm also is pleased to announce the addition of Eric R. Drennan. Drennan is a registered patent attorney practicing in the field of intellectual property law.

Mulvany

McKenna Long & Aldridge announced the firm has elected Sandra Wick Mulvany to partnership. Mulvany is a partner in the litigation practice, where she focuses on complex commercial and government contracts litigation. Also, Governor Howard Dean — a nationally recognized political figure, presidential candidate and six-term Governor — agreed to serve as an independent consultant exclusive to the government affairs practice at the firm.

Dan Murphy and Mike Decker have formed their own law firm, Murphy & Decker. Also, Greg Lindsay joined the firm as an associate.
