Picture This: DBA Happenings ![]() Achieving a Milestone — Seniors Spring Banquet Song, dance, food and fun filled the University Club, May 14, when the DBA and the Seniors Spring Banquet honored 19 attorneys who were admitted to the Bar in 1959. Jim Bayer, chair of the Seniors Committee, passed the torch to Don McMichael, who officially assumed chair duties at the event. Bayer was chair for the last six years. Immediate Past President Mark Fogg and Past President Mary Jo Gross emceed the event and recapped the outstanding careers of our honorees. A special thanks to Bob Kapelke’s Burdon of Spoof Comedy Troupe for the entertainment. Honorees in attendance that night (pictured below) included: Edward S. Barlock, David G. Barsotti, Timothy L. Campbell, William T. Diss, Arthur L. Fine, Robert F. Fiori, Edward M. Heppenstall, Robert D. Hill, Kenneth D. Hubbard, Robert L. Johnson, Francis P. King, Robert T. Lego, Donald L. Lozow, E. Gregory Martin, Robert R. Montgomery, Eugene M. Pepper, Donald E. Spiegleman, Hon. Zita Weinshienk and Michael A. Williams.
Bethany Johnson, Danielle Urban and Carey-Elisa Christie eagerly volunteered their time and expertise at the 38th Annual People’s Fair, and provided legal information to those who needed it. DBA Booth at People’s Fair Thanks to all the volunteers who helped make the DBA booth a success at the 38th Annual People’s Fair June 6-7 at downtown Denver’s Civic Center Park. The People’s Fair offered delicious culinary delights and fabulous entertainment and raised funds for nonprofit organizations. Each year, the DBA hosts a booth with volunteer attorneys, law students and paralegals who answer legal questions from the public and distribute brochures and legal resources. Annual Party honors the best of the best Three outstanding attorneys, one judge and a local teacher were recognized as exemplary DBA members at the 2009 Annual Awards Party on June 9 at the Colorado History Museum. Recipients included: William (Bill) DeMoulin, posthumously, Award of Merit; Charlene Krogh, Volunteer of the Year Award; Amanda Smith, Young Lawyer of the Year Award; Hon. Orrelle Rodgers Weeks, Judicial Excellence Award; and Barbara Gale-Martinez, Teacher of the Year Award. Also at the event, Immediate Past President Mark Fogg passed the gavel to new DBA President John Baker.
