Wheels of Justice adds to the pot

The Denver Bar Association congratulates the 177 member Wheels of Justice Cycling Team that, as of press time, has raised approximately $183,863 for Denver’s Children’s Hospital in 2009. Now in its fourth year of riding in the Courage Classic Cycling Tour, the team has generated more than $800,000 in donations for Children’s, while offering lawyers and nonlawyers alike the opportunity for get fit for a great cause. Are you ready for some football?
Collateral Attack wins 2008 DBA Football Championship

On November 9, 2008, led by quarterback Marc Walters, the team Collateral Attack won its fourth football league championship in the last six years by defeating The Untouchables 40-39 in overtime. It was the third straight year the two teams have vied for the League Championship. The DBA Lawyers’ Football League was created in 1968. Each year, the league’s champion is awarded the Madden Trophy in tribute to the league’s founder John Madden III.

The league plays its games commencing the first Sunday after Labor Day and concludes the second Sunday in November. Interested players and teams for the fall 2009 season may contact the league commissioner, Vic Stazzone, at stazzmann@yahoo.com.
