The Ethics Revue at Lannie’s Clocktower Cabaret — Starring The Law Club

CBA–CLE proudly presents The Law Club in the all new CLE musical extravaganza, The Ethics Revue. With a unique combination of wit, song, and commentary, this cast of talented attorneys will raise your awareness of a variety of ethical issues that arise in the practice of law. It is being offered on two nights: Sept. 22 and 23 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Lannie’s Clocktower Cabaret, 1601 Arapahoe St. in Denver. The program is submitted for three ethics credits. Cost is $149 for CBA members and $179 for nonmembers.

The CBA Ethics Committee and the Law Club once again join in an unholy alliance to present this year’s hot ethics topics and those all-important rule changes in a fun and musical format! Brave commentary on uncharted ethical issues will be provided by the remarkably insightful and thoughtful CBA Ethics Committee panel, moderated by John T. Baker, Esq.

Topic include: Conversion, Misrepresentations, Billing and fees, Conflicts of interest, Confidentiality, Deposing opposing counsel, Colo. RPC 1.2 Reporting and Planning Crimes, Witness Preparation, Colo. RPC 3.1 /CRCP 11/Frivolous Motions, Trial Tactics, Pro Bono Obligations, Colo. RPC 1.7, Discovery Obligations, and more!

Mark Your Calendar: Constitution Day

Constitution Day commemorates the formation and signing of the U.S. Constitution by thirty-nine brave men on Sept. 17, 1787. Volunteers are needed to go into Denver area schools’ 5th grade classrooms on Sept. 14, 15 and 16 for approximately one hour. This year, the DBA is collaborating with Liberty Day to organize the event. Visit www.libertyday.org. All materials, including a lesson plan, are provided by Liberty Day and will be mailed to each volunteer. Interested in volunteering? Volunteering is a daring way to savor the world. You are transitioning, with a life-time accumulation of useful experience and with a well-honed brain. You know there’s a "dance in the old girl/boy yet." Volunteering provides you with an extraordinarily exciting menu of possibilities. Take two weeks and go to Cote d’Ivoire to build a home with Habitat for Humanity; spend two years with Peace Corps in Mongolia or Eastern Europe or Africa; invest a day a week working in Denver.
