School Supply Drive donates 300 backpacks to disadvantaged children
Co-chairs Jennifer DiLalla of Morrison Foerster and Karen Spaulding of Beatty & Wozniak spearheaded the 2010 DBA’s Community Action Network (CAN) School Supply Drive. CAN collected more than $2,000 in cash donations and filled 300 backpacks with basic school supplies. This year’s event benefits children in Denver Public Schools’ Educational Outreach Program, Children’s Outreach Project, and Mile High Comitis. More than 40 firms in the metro area collected donations from July 19–30. Volunteers from the committee stuffed backpacks on Saturday, Aug. 7, and handed them out at the Denver Zoo on Sunday, Aug. 8. All volunteers and beneficiaries also enjoyed a free day at zoo! Thank you to everyone who donated to this great cause.
