DBA Democracy Education Committee Updates Name to Lawyers and Schools Committee
The DBA Board of Trustees approved the name change of the Democracy Education Committee to the Lawyers and Schools Committee at its meeting on April 11.
This committee shall develop, coordinate, administer, and manage projects and programs to educate the public regarding democracy, legal principles, practices, and institutions. It shall coordinate and add value to democracy education and associated activities in Denver schools to enhance public knowledge of and trust in the legal profession. The committee will give direction to and provide opportunities for members of the legal profession to participate in these efforts and to coordinate such efforts with other bar associations and community organizations.

Seniors Spring Banquet ‘Class’ Announced
Honor those who have been admitted to the bar for 50 years at the DBA Seniors Spring Banquet on Tuesday, June 4.

Social Networking: An Ethical Minefield—May 23
As licensed professionals, it is critical to be mindful of responsibilities in interactions with others, including those that occur electronically or via social media. There may be dangers for lawyers who may be unaware of the interaction between the use of social media and their responsibilities under the Rules of Professional Conduct. Join Lawyers League Softball
DBA Lawyers’ League Coed Softball starts June 8 and runs through Aug. 10. Games are played Saturdays at Cranmer Park (at 1st Avenue and Bellaire Street). This is a relaxed league more concerned with having fun than, well, pretty much anything else. Cost varies depending on the number of teams in the league. CU Jewish Law Students Association Returns
The Jewish Law Students Association at the University of Colorado Law School is back after a brief hiatus. JLSA is committed to fostering a community among anyone interested, and being Jewish is not a requirement. JLSA is working to create a contact list of Colorado attorneys for event notices, which may include Shabbat dinners, happy hours, a mentor program, and other social and networking opportunities.
