Legal Volunteers Needed Saturday, October 7, 2006
The Colorado Lawyers Committee and the Colorado Chapter of Association of Corporate Counsel’s (ACC) Pro Bono Committee are seeking volunteers to assist with the Project Homeless Connect (PHC), a joint effort of the Mayor’s Commission on Homelessness and Mile High United Way. PHC is a one-day event that will connect 1,000 homeless individuals to services they need, including: benefits, medical care, substance abuse, mental health counseling, housing opportunities, and legal assistance.
Volunteer lawyers, law students and paralegals are needed to provide assistance and information regarding available legal resources at the next PHC on Saturday, October 7, 2006 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Denver City Offices at 1200 Federal Boulevard. A minimum 2-hour commitment is requested (10:00-12:00, or 12:00-2:00, 2:00-4:00). No prior experience in legal issues relating to the homeless is required.
