Present at the meeting were Chris Buckman, Mike McConnell, Heather Burkham, John Wheeler, Dan McCune, John Palmeri, Mike Ludwig, Greg Martin, Laurie Hawley, John Phillips, Robin Beattie, Dave Little, Craig Fleishman, Michael Mihm, Phil Masterson, Reba Nance and Donna Lloyd.

Chris Buckman of Sedgwick James reported on recent developments at COREGIS.

John Wheeler reported on the extensive progress that has been made to organize the malpractice prevention seminars for next winter. Judge Casebolt has been active in recruiting speakers. The speakers are, thus far: Chris Buckman will discuss statistical information about claims in Colorado; Craig Fleishman and John Palmeri will discuss recent court decisions and disciplinary actions; a panel of two or three attorneys from the law practice management section will do a session on management of the law firm; a panel of judges, including Judge Casebolt, Judge Nancy Rice, Judge Ray Satter and Judge John Kane, together with a local judge of the district in which the seminar is taking place, will provide a "view from the bench." In the afternoon, we will have a speaker from the disciplinary counsel's office and then we will provide videotapes of vignettes of malpractice traps for lawyers. Leslie Crispelle, Jr. and Janet Savage, Esq. have agreed to talk about social issues in the legal workplace.

Heather Burkham reported on the status of Whoops. The next issue of Whoops is about ready to be mailed out. Robin Beattie asked that someone take over editorial responsibilities. Phil Masterson agreed to take over those responsibilities for Robin.

Reba Nance reported on issues relating to the Colorado Bar Association's web page. The committee discussed whether we should put risk management/malpractice prevention information on the web page. After discussion, the committee agreed that it would be a good idea to put such information on the web page as the cost is marginal. The committee then debated about whether the risk management/malpractice prevention information should be limited to bar association members only. The committee did not come to a conclusion as to access to the risk management portion of the web page should be limited to bar association members. Reba will discuss the matter with Chuck Turner. The committee agreed that it would be a good idea to put Whoops on the web page.

Reba Nance reported that, to date, the committee has received three requests for speakers from the malpractice prevention speakers' bureau.

There being no further business, the committee adjourned.
