In attendance were Christopher Buckman, Bob Treece, Donna Lloyd, Laurie Hawley, Chuck Turner, Michael Canges, John Phillips, John Palmeri, June Baker Laird, Michael Mihm, Mike Hutchinson, John Wheeler, and Kent Miller

Mr. Buckman reported on Westport Insurance Company's bar-endorsed legal malpractice insurance program. Westport is in the process of simplifying its procedure for reapplying for legal malpractice insurance.

Mr. Buckman and Westport are in the process of getting together claims data that so that the Committee can incorporate that data into a legal malpractice prevention questionnaire. Westport Insurance will provide that information in the next several weeks.

Mr. Mihm reported on the Committee's exploration of a lawyer "boot camp" for new lawyers. Mr. Mihm reported that Dave Little, who was absent, had obtained material and would have an outline by the December meeting.

The Committee discussed at length the proposal to provide mandatory pro bono for Colorado lawyers. Various members of the Committee expressed concern about exposure to legal malpractice claims and grievance arising out of lawyers being required to represent pro bono clients and, possibly, practice in areas with which they are not familiar. Mr. Turner suggested that the Committee raise these concerns with the Colorado Bar Association Board of Governors. Mr. Treece offered to prepare a draft of a letter to the Board of Governors addressing these concerns.

There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
