Present at the meeting were: John Wheeler, Joyce Jenkins, Dave Little, Mick Mihm, Chris Buckman, Julie Revers, Chuck Turner, Chris Little, Jerre Dixon, Dan McCune, Renee Garcia, John Palmeri, and Robin Beattie.

CBA Convention: Dave Little reported on the CBA Convention. There was a good turnout, but we do not have evaluation forms specifically for the program we co-sponsored. Julie Revers will follow up and determine if there is any feedback for the program.

CBA/LPL Annual Preventing Legal Malpractice Seminar - 2001: There were discussions about whether to have a seminar every year and the Committee decided to continue to do so for a number of reasons. Based on the turnout we had at various locations in the past, the Committee decided to have next year's seminars at Grand Junction, Colorado Springs and Denver. In order to reduce the size of the Denver seminar, and to allow for more interaction with the attendees, the Committee decided to hold two Denver seminars. One Denver seminar may be held at the CLE office and perhaps another at the Arvada Center. Chris Little will chair the 2001 seminar and the Committee members were requested to provide input at the next meeting on possible topics and formats.

Whoops!: Joyce Jenkins reported on the progress of Whoops! The September/October Whoops! will contain an article prepared by Jamie Sudler about the recent Sather case. The next Whoops! article will discuss the pros and cons of MDPs.

CBA Website for LPL Insurers: This is almost completed and we hope to have the document ready for review by the next meeting. The "list" will then be put on the CBA Website.

Malpractice Prevention Checklists: Based on the comments received a "final" general form checklist will be prepared and presented at the next meeting. This general form will be used in conjunction with more specific checklists for various practice areas.

Periodic Review of CBA Endorsed LPL Insurer: Westport has been the CBA endorsed lawyers professional liability insurer since 1995. There were discussions about a periodic review of any bar endorsed insurer. The Committee decided to ascertain what other insurers are being endorsed by the various state bar associations, and to provide an objective list of criteria to evaluate LPL insurers. Chuck Turner and Robin Beattie will work on this project and report back to the Committee at the next meeting.

Other matters: The next meeting will be held on October 18, 2000, and Jean Younger from Employers Re will provide a presentation regarding the Westport program.
