Present at the meeting were John Palmeri, Robin Beattie, Walter Houghtaling, Chris Buckman, John Wheeler, Mike McConnell, Jerre Dixon, Julie Revers, Reba Nance, Gary Abrams, Mike Canjes, Chuck Turner and Dan McCune.
The Committee discussed the Whoops publication. Chris Buckman has been in contact with Cindy Fleischner regarding an article in the next edition. Chris will coordinate with Cindy for the next article.
Walter Houghtaling reported on the “Preventing Legal Malpractice” seminars. Walter explained that there will be eight live programs in seven locations throughout Colorado. The seminar will be presented twice in Denver. Walter is working with Judge Leonard Plank and others on the program. The Committee expressed its support for the efforts.
Robin Beattie reported on the ongoing project of practice checklists. Robin provided a proposed checklist. John Palmeri agreed to circulate the checklist for further comment from the Committee.
Reba Nance discussed the Lawyer-to-Lawyer directory. Reba has been in contact with the Wisconsin Bar Association regarding the directory. She thinks that it may be of help to CBA members, particularly new lawyers. The Committee discussed a number of concerns with the directory. Reba agreed to follow-up with the Wisconsin Bar Association and share its answers with the Committee.
The next meeting was set for December 12, 2001.
