Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver
Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver builds and sells homes to qualified, low-income families in need of decent and affordable housing. Habitat not only provides the opportunity for homeownership, but allows families to break the cycle of poverty and build a better future for themselves. Habitat homes are not given away. Homeowner candidates go through a rigorous screening process and purchase the homes with a no-interest mortgage. Homeowner families also invest 250-500 hours of "sweat equity" labor into building their homes. Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver is an independent Habitat affiliate depending on local donations and support. Almost 300 homes have been completed in the metro Denver area. Thirty homes will be built in 2007 and we need your help. Volunteers can help build, join a committee, make a contribution, or shop or donate at one of our two Habitat Home Improvement Outlets. To find out more or to get involved go to www.habitatmetrodenver.org or call 303-534-2929.
