“Recovering Attorneys Fees in Patent and other Intellectual Property Litigation”
In February, the Patent, Trademark and Copyright Section will feature Bret A. Bocchieri, partner of Perkins Coie in Santa Monica, California.
Mr. Bocchieri has extensive experience as lead counsel in litigating patents as well as matters involving trademark, trade secret, copyright, unfair competition, and intellectual property-related anti-trust actions. He was the principal architect of the now widely followed procedure in patent litigation as outlined in the precedent-setting, Refac Int'l, Ltd. v. Hitachi, et al., 921 F.2d 1247 (Fed. Cir. 1990), establishing that a plaintiff must provide detailed infringement claim charts early in discovery or suffer dismissal without prejudice as a sanction.
Mr. Bocchieri is a frequent speaker and author of many publications with respect to Intellectual Property topics.
