Andy Archuleta will present his juvenile firesetters program with a guest (a burn survivor). CACP members are invited to bring guests for this special presentation.





  • Corey circulated The Latham Letter in which the article she wrote on CACP and the link is featured.

  • Corey also circulated a new publication of Humane Society of the United States on creating safe havens.



Training for Evaluators and Treatment Providers Update

  • Ten people have registered for the October 21 and 22 training as of today. The registration deadline is September 17, but may be extended to October 6.
  • All members were encouraged to promote the training opportunities, especially in light of a new accreditation requirement that will be in effect as of next year for therapists, requiring such training.
  • Joan has a call in to the Kempe Center, inviting them to be a sponsor of the October 21 and 22 training.
  • Kay encouraged members to let possible training participants know that the $25 suggested donation for the October 20 LINK training is optional; “it shouldn’t discourage people from attending.”
  • The October 20 LINK training will award 7 CLEs, a very substantial amount of credits.

CACP staff is preparing to apply for POST (Police Officer Standards in Training) recognition for the CACP training. It will be a voluntary requirement. (The Aurora LINK training is mandatory.)




Discussion on the color of the logo resulted in a choice of dark blue.




  • Joan reported on the August 10th meeting of Colorado Federation of Animal Welfare Agencies (CFAWA).
  • Minutes of that meeting will be posted on the CACP Intranet site after they are approved by CFAWA.




  • The CACP website is up ( The only content on there now is about the October 21st and 22nd trainings.
  • Judy will ask members to review the draft website scheme that is posted on the Intranet (Marketing Materials) and encourage them to offer to write articles on topics of interest to them.
