Networking/Partnership Meetings

The Solo/Small Firm Section partnership meetings are a great networking opportunity, as well as a practice management and technology discussion forum.  The meetings are open to all CBA members, not just Solo/Small Firm Section members, the sponsoring entity.  A CBA staff member is almost always in attendance.  CLE credits are routinely offered, although sometimes there is no formal agenda, and no RSVP is required.  We encourage you to think about and prepare questions or ideas to present to the group.  Don't hesitate to e-mail a contact person to suggest a CLE topic and/or speaker!

COLORADO SPRINGS: The November 4th program will be Alternative Models for Transition Planning:  Will or Contract? presented by Denis Lane and Jim Duve.  They will talk about using a Professional Will to give authority to a representative to deal with client and financial records and assist clients for the transfer of their files, as well as addressing using a contract with an assisting attorney and how to integrate that with a Will and fee agreement, including a discussion of problems with both methods.  One CLE credit will be available. -- The December 2nd program will be How the Office of the Public Administrator Could Affect Your Estate presented by Catherine Seal, Public Administrator for El Paso County.  The program will be about the circumstances that could cause involvement in your law practice, impact on family and clients, payment of the cost and how a transition plan could avoid this situation.  One CLE credit will be available.

Meetings are currently held in four locations (dates are subject to change; however, they will occur as scheduled unless prior notice has been sent to the Section membership via e-mail.  Please check this website on a regular basis):
