Legal Aid. Volunteers are needed to conduct intake sessions and to handle pro bono cases. Providing pro bono representation to those less fortunate is one of the best services that we, as attorneys, can provide to our community. Attorneys willing to participate should contact the LCBA’s paralegal, Ellen Holmes, at 402-2075. A special thanks to Alix Joseph for heading up our legal aid program. She will be transitioning out of such position, and Jennifer Rice, our very own 2003 CBA Young Lawyer of the Year award recipient, has graciously volunteered to take over the reins of our legal aid program.

Thank You. Mark Twain once said "It is better to deserve honors and not have them than to have them and not deserve them." This quote brings to mind all of the unsung heroes of the LCBA who unselfishly devote their time and efforts to serve their fellow attorneys and the public at large. To all of you who have helped out this past year in LCBA matters, and especially our legal aid program, thank you. The fact that you expend such time and efforts without the expectation of recognition or accolades is all the better.
