*** Winter Festival
DBA YLD Winter Festival is Jan. 27, 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m., at the Denver Department of Human Services, 1200 Federal Blvd. You can still donate to this event, which provides gifts to Denver-area foster children, giving them an opportunity to celebrate the holidays. New sporting equipment, books, stuffed animals and toys are needed; drop them off at the DBA offices, 1900 Grant St., 9th floor. For more information, contact Libby DeBlasio at (303) 918-4035 or libbydeblasio@yahoo.com.

*** Teach a Small Claims or Collections Clinic
The DBA is seeking volunteers to teach a lunch-time Small Claims and/or Pro Se Collections Clinic for the public once a month at the County Court. These clinics are designed to help people file small claims and collection actions in court. They discuss alternatives to filing, the process of filing a small claim, and how to prepare and present a case to a judge. These clinics offer legal information, not legal advice.  Outline and training provided. If interested, contact Carolyn at cgravit@cobar.org or (303) 824-5323.

*** CBA-CLE Programs: Preventing Legal Malpractice (Four Live Statewide Programs and Two Webcasts!)
Join CBA-CLE for this excellent annual program on Preventing Legal Malpractice, co-sponsored by the CBA Professional Liability Committee. Hear about current trends, new cases on lawyer advertising, electronic discovery, risk management, new ethics opinions, collecting fees and insurance coverage. This program will be offered live in Denver (Jan. 25 or Feb. 7), Colorado Springs, and Grand Junction, and you also can attend by Webcast Jan. 25 and Feb. 7

*** DU vs. CU Mock Trial Showdown
The Hogan & Hartson Cup is a mock trial competition between first-year law students from DU and CU law schools. Help is needed to score the rounds this Saturday, Jan. 20, at the new Wolf Law Building at the University of Colorado School of Law. The first round is at 9 a.m. and second round is at 1 p.m. To help, contact Edward Hafer at hafere@colorado.edu.

*** Pro Bono Attorney Training
The Children's Law Center trains and supports private attorneys to work with maltreated children and their families. The first training of the year is Feb. 22, 11:30 a.m.-5 p.m., at Davis Graham & Stubbs, 1550 17th St., Suite 500 in Denver. There is no cost for this training in exchange for taking at least one case. Five CLE credits, including one ethics, have been requested. Contact Melissa Parent (303) 692-1165 to RSVP or for more information.
