*** Did Your Firm Meet the Pro Bono Goal?
The Colorado Supreme Court would like to recognize all Colorado law firms and solo practitioners who, in the calendar year 2007 for their Colorado licensed attorneys, achieved the Colorado Rule of Professional Conduct 6.1 goal of 50 hours of pro bono legal services on the average, pro-rating for part time attorneys, primarily for the indigent and/or organizations that serve the indigent. The word "primarily" means a "substantial majority" of the pro bono hours were for indigent persons and/or organizations serving the indigent, as set forth in RPC 6.1. If your firm met the goal in 2007, you may simply say that in an e-mail to Justice Greg Hobbs at gregory.hobbs@judicial.state.co.us by March 14. The court is planning a recognition ceremony in its courtroom at a date to be determined, and will post the list of recognized firms on its Colorado Judicial Branch web page, as in the past.

*** Access to Justice Commission Releases Report
"The Justice Crisis in Colorado" is the first report the Colorado Access to Justice Commission has released on the need for legal assistance for Colorado’s most vulnerable populations. Many Coloradans who need legal assistance to secure and maintain health care, housing, custody and other necessities do not receive help. This report is the findings of 10 hearings throughout the state to assess the legal needs of Colorado’s indigent and others. A link to a copy of the report can be found by clicking here.

*** Commercial Real Estate Transactions: The Fundamentals
The experienced instructors will make sure that you cover all of the bases in your due diligence, including lending, title and property location issues. This CBA–CLE program, March 21, 9 a.m.–12:45 p.m., will be a program focused exclusively on the fundamentals of commercial real estate transactions. Register online — Commercial Real Estate Transactions: The Fundamentals.
