*** Place your bets for MVL May 3
The 2008 Barristers Ball will be a festive night of entertainment to benefit Metro Volunteer Lawyers, one of the nation’s best programs for pro bono work. The theme this year is Emerald City - honoring lawyers who have heart, brains and courage. Roll the dice at the casino, buy lucky raffle tickets and stop by the silent auction for fine wines and other treats. For details, visit www.denbar.org or www.metrovolunteerlawyers.org. Call (303) 830-8210 to volunteer.

*** Movie: “The Life Penalty”
Selecting a jury in a death penalty case is one of the toughest challenges facing a defense attorney. Receive two CLE credits for attending a screening of this feature-length documentary about David Wymore and the Colorado method of jury selection. The insights are universal. A panel discussion will follow with Wymore, Douglas Wilson of the state public defender’s office and the filmmakers. Screenings are at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, April 10 at The Mayan Theater in Denver, and at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 16 at CU’s Wolf Law Building in Boulder. Call (303) 758-2454 or go to www.TheLifePenalty.com to reserve seats. CLE materials available.
