Denver District Domestic Relation Courts Relocating
The Denver District Court Domestic Relations Courtrooms are moving
On August 1st the Denver District Court Domestic Relations Courtrooms will be moving out of the City and County Building. They will be moving into the Minoru Yasui Building at 303 W. Colfax which is just across Colfax from the City and County Building, just north of the Denver Mint. For those who have been around awhile, it was formerly the Marina Hotel. The courts will be occupying space on the 1st floor of the building and will be open for business starting on Monday August 4, 2008. The three domestic relations judges, their staff, Clerk’s Office staff and the Family Court Facilitator will be moving into new courtrooms and offices in the Yasui Building. The two domestic relations magistrates will be staying in their current locations, Courtrooms 15A and 15B, in the City and County Building. The courtrooms that are moving are Courtroom 4, Courtroom 21 and Courtroom 22. All matters for these courtrooms will be handled in the new spaces in the Minoru Yasui Building.
There will be a Clerk of Court Office in the Yasui building that will accept pleadings although all new case filings will be accepted in the City and County Building Clerk’s Office, Room 256 only. All Temporary Restraining Orders will be heard in the Minoru Yasui Building. The Clerk’s Office in the Minoru Yasui Building will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily.
The Domestic Relations Courts will occupy the space in the Minoru Yasui Building until the new Denver Justice Center opens in mid 2010. At that time they will move back into the City and County Building. All District Court Criminal Courtrooms, all County Court Criminal Courtrooms and all of Denver Juvenile Court will be moving into the new Denver Justice Center.
