Uniform Parentage Act
Dear Family Law Section members:
In the just completed 2009 legislative session, HB 09-1286 – Concerning the repeal and reenactment of the "Uniform Parentage Act" was introduced at the legislature. At the request of the CBA, the bill was withdrawn by the sponsors to allow the CBA time to undertake an in-depth study of the bill. We are asking for your input as the review process is just beginning.
Your Family Law Legislative Committee will take responsibility for gathering comments from the general membership and developing a position to recommend to the Family Law Section Executive Committee; such position may be in the form of support, oppose, amend, etc. Once the Section has taken a position that will be conveyed to the other impacted sections of the CBA. The CBA’s Legislative Policy Committee will work with the sections that are taking a position on the bill to develop a CBA position on the bill.
Please review the document by clicking the link below and provide feedback to one or both of the Family Law Legislative Committee co-chairs, Dick Rotole email@example.com and Marie Moses firstname.lastname@example.org. If you have any questions regarding the CBA legislative process please contact Michael Valdez at email@example.com.
Please submit your comments to Dick or Marie by June 15, 2009.
Thanks very much,
