*** Bench-Bar Committee Breakfast: What is the Denver Probate Court all about?
Learn from Denver Probate Court Judge Hon. C. Jean Stewart the basics of practicing in Denver Probate Court. The event is an informal roundtable format on Wednesday, Oct. 21, 8–9 a.m., at the Denver City & County Building Law Library, 1435 Bannock St. One general CLE credit. *** Hickenlopper proclaims Pro Bono Week, Oct. 25–31
Mayor John Hickenlopper proclaimed Denver Pro Bono Week from Oct. 25–31. The celebration is part of a national effort to showcase the effects of pro bono lawyers on society. Lawline 9 is participating in the celebration with sessions scheduled for Monday, Oct. 26, 5:30–7:30 a.m. and Saturday, Oct. 31, 7:30–9 a.m. at 9News. Lawline 9 is a call-in, ask-a-lawyer program that provides legal information and suggestions where the individual may go for legal assistance. *** Seniors Roast — Come watch these guys in action, Oct. 29
James T. Bayer will be roasted by Dick Bayer, Charles Brega, Robert Fullerton and Gary Palumbo on Thursday, Oct. 29. Join us for the annual tradition of “roasting” — and toasting — one of Colorado’s finest at the 2009 Seniors Committee Roast Dinner at 6 p.m. at the University Club. Cost is $45 per person. The 7th Annual Federal Judges and Federal Magistrate Judges Roundtable is Saturday, Oct. 24, 8–11:30 a.m., at The Grand Hyatt Denver, 1750 Welton St. Brought to you by The Faculty of Federal Advocates, attendees will be assigned a rotation schedule and participate in three successive 45-minute discussions with about nine other attendees at each table. *** Shoot Some Hoops!
Lawyers League Basketball will kick off the 2010 season in January, continuing through early March with the division championships. Games will likely be played at the University of Denver, as usual. The team entry fee is expected to be between $600–750, pending final facility and insurance costs. Team captains from last year received registration and sign-up information in mid-October.
