Volunteer Opportunities:

*** DPS Substitue Teacher Project

There are only two opportunities coming soon; Tuesday, Jan. 26, 7 a.m.- noon, and Thursday, Jan. 28, all day. For information contact Meghan Bush.

*** CBA Young Lawyer's Division — Christmas in February
We are looking for donations of new and gently used toys. This a great opportunity to donate unused toys to children who are very deserving and very much in need. Donations can be dropped off at the CBA offices in Denver. To arrange for an alternative drop-off, or to ask any questions, or to participate in the event, e-mail Leia Ursery. If you wish to donate financially, please make check payable to CBA YLD with “Christmas in February” in the memo line and mail to: CBA YLD, 1900 Grant Street, 9th Floor, Denver, Colorado 80203. The event benefits Realities for Children organization in Fort Collins, a non-profit which attempts to meet the needs of abused and neglected children in Larimer County.

*** Colorado State High School Mock Trial Tournament
The CBA High School Mock Trial Program affords an excellent opportunity to be involved in a rewarding and fun learning experience for our young people. Be a part of this incredible educational experience for the high school students of our state by volunteering as a scoring panelist. The CBA would love to have a law student be part of it! There is a 3 to 4 hour time commitment for volunteers on the scoring panels. Scoring panelists review the presentation and NOT the legal merits of the team’s case. However, substance of the presentation is important. The scoring panelists will also complete “a performance rating” score sheet. Please visit www.coloradohighschoolmocktrial.com and download a volunteer sign up sheet under the “Volunteer Opportunities” section. For information contact Meghan Bush.

*** CAN You?
Collect a few cans of food? Fill a backpack with supplies for school children? Ride a bike? Collect a few toothbrushes? Find a special toy for a child? Then you can join the Denver Bar Association Community Action Network Committee. To volunteer with the committee or for more information, contact Heather Clark at (303) 824-5350. Or go to www.denbar.org and click on Committees.
