CBA-CLE:  Legal Ethics: Hypotheticals for the Real World, Dec. 9

This popular CLE program is back! Faculty members will present and discuss hypothetical fact patterns that represent legal ethics situations that Colorado attorneys face frequently in their practices.  The hypotheticals will address ethics challenges faced by both litigators and non-litigators, giving you the critical guidance you need to make the right choice. For each hypothetical, you will be given multiple-choice answers, from which to choose the “best” or “safest” course of action an attorney can take.  The program's written materials will include a copy of the Colorado Rules of Professional Conduct, as well as case decisions, legal ethics opinions, and other documents used by faculty in the discussion of each hypothetical situation. This program is offered for four CLE Ethics Credits.

CaseCheck+ and Casemaker Digest are Now Available!
casecheck

CaseCheck+ automatically tells you if your case has been overruled, reversed, or treated in a way that determines whether and how you will use it to make your argument.  The thumbs-up will appear for good cases in states that have CC+.  If a state does not yet have CC+, then there will be no icons at all. States are currently being completed by the Pacific Reporter.  The Pacific Reporter will cover the years 1885 to 2003.  Colorado is completely current and the rest of the Pacific Reporter will be current to at least 2003.

Casemaker Digest is a service that summarizes cases from state appellate courts, state supreme courts, and federal circuit courts.  Cases can be selected by practice area, courts, judges, or relevant concepts and allow you to filter reported cases to suit your own practice.  You can receive notice on your mobile device of new cases, based on your search parameters/filters via RSS feeds.  Don’t know what an RSS feed is?  No worries, click here for a document that walks you through the steps.  We also have a video that will walk you through signing up for an RSS feed;  The CBA has arranged to make it free for the first year.
