The Holidays Can be a Difficult Time of Year
The CBA would like to remind members that there are two confidential programs in Colorado to help lawyers who are coping with substance abuse, mental health issues, or other troubling behaviors. Mines and Associates is the organization designated by the Colorado Attorney Assistance Program, supervised by the Colorado Supreme Court. Colorado Lawyers Helping Lawyers is the peer assistance program run with the aid of the Colorado Bar Association. Information about how to access the peer-assistance group meetings, in addition to a “virtual” statewide meetings, can be obtained here. Additionally, CLHL now provides direct phone contacts with four attorneys who are available to offer personal guidance on how to handle a myriad of difficult situations attorneys often face, from substance abuse to stress management to mental health issues. Of course, any emergency should be handled by a call to 911.

Stay in the Loop With the Legislature
