Our speakers will be Lance Timbreza and Jason Bailey, who will speak on Senate Bill 11 (Civil Unions), which Gov. John Hickenlooper signed into law on March 21, 2013. This has the potential to impact numerous areas of law, not just family law. CLE credit is anticipated.

July Membership Meeting

Our speaker will be Bernie Buescher, who will provide a legislative update. CLE credit is anticipated. If there are any particular new laws you would like him to cover, email your requests to Angela at aclassen@rqlawllp.com.

Nominations Needed

The MCBA will elect the new 2013–14 officers during the June membership meeting. If you would like to serve on the board or would like to nominate someone, please contact the following members of the nominating committee: Leslie Castro, Michael Santo and Mike Russell. Nominations from the floor will be considered as well. Don’t miss this opportunity to serve your local bar association!

Call-A-Lawyer

The MCBA will again host the Call-A-Lawyer event the third Thursday of every other month. The next Call-A-Lawyer is scheduled for Thursday, May 16, from 7 to 9 p.m. Volunteer lawyers from all areas of law are needed.

Jason Bailey heads this event. To volunteer to help out or to staff the phone bank, please contact him at 242-2636 or jpb@grandjunctionlaw.com.

Pro Bono Spotlight
