VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR CBA CONVENTION TABLE
We have received a letter from CBA offering us a table at Bar Mart at the Convention. This is an opportunity to recruit new members and to publicize our activities. We need volunteers to man the table on Sept. 11 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Keystone Convention Center. Please call Steve Mains (444-6559) to volunteer
BUSINESS MEETINGS SCHEDULED
Business meetings will continue to be held at the CBA offices, generally on the first Friday of the month from noon to 1:30. All members and other interested individuals are encouraged to attend. Bring your own lunch.

Please note that the September 11, 1998, meeting has been cancelled since it conflicts with the Colorado Bar Association Convention.
RESTORATIVE JUSTICE CONFERENCE AT KEYSTONE SEPT. 8-10

DEPT OF JUSTICE ADR TAPE AVAILABLE
Cindy Savage noted at the last business meeting that there is a videotape available, which has a 10-minute presentation of Janet Reno promoting ADR. It can be obtained from the Senior Counsel for ADR at the Dept. of Justice (202-616-9473). Our Forum Committee has obtained a copy of the tape for use by our members. It can be obtained from Steve Mains, 444-6559.

MINUTES: JULY 10th BUSINESS MEETING
The July 10, 1998, Business Meeting was attended by Steve Mains, Lillian Lehrburger, Cindy Savage, and Stan Lipkin. Sheila Somberg attempted to attend by phone, but a phone was not available in the meeting room.
On behalf of the Ad Hoc Transactional Law/ADR Group, Sally Ortner had reported to Steve that progress on the Convention program was progressing appropriately Lillian reported, on behalf of the Residential Real Estate Industry Focus Committee, that a revised ADR clause is now in the standard contract.
Sheila Somberg, for the Education/Topical Lunch Committee, had reported to Steve that the June 2nd luncheon presentation on ADR in employment disputes was a great success with an excellent presentation, attended by approximately 70 people.
Cindy drew attention to the seminar on Restorative and Community Justice to be held at Keystone Sept. 8, 9, & 10.
Since the September 11, 1998 meeting conflicts with the Bar Association Convention, it was voted to cancel this meeting. There will be no September business meeting.
NEXT BUSINESS MEETING B AUG 7th
The next CBA ADR Forum Committee business meeting will be held on August 7th at noon in the CBA offices. Please mark your calendars.
At the next business meeting, there will be a discussion of the proposed Standard of Conduct for Mediators. All interested persons are urged to attend.
Please note that all sub-committee chairs are requested to attend the Business Meetings in order to provide a report of activities. If the chairs can not attend, then another member of the subcommittee should attend the Business Meeting to make an in person report. In the event that no one can attend, then a written report should be submitted to our Chair, Steve Mains, prior to the Business Meeting. Thanks.
SUB-COMMITTEES REPORT KEY ACTIVITIES
Articles are needed for the January, March and June, 1999 columns. Please contact Lili Lehrbuger 837-1001 for details regarding future articles. We need more articles, particularly regarding ADR in select substantive areas.
COLORADO PLEDGE SUB-COMMITTEE
Beginning on August 7, this sub-committee will meet at 11 a.m. on the first Friday of the month immediately before the ADR Forum Committee business meeting.
Our Committee's convention program will take place on the afternoon of September 11th in Keystone. The topic is ATools for Integrating Conflict Management Into Your Deal B Counseling, Drafting and Implementing ADR@. This 2.5 hour presentation will be conducted in cooperation with the Ad-Hoc Transactional Law/ADR Group.
Merrill Sheilds, Ed Dauer and Bill Baum will conduct a discussion on ADR opportunities and limitations in various deals. Corporate/Partnership deals will be presented by Jim Walker. Real estate will be presented by Cindy Shearer. Intra-Family, such as trusts, pre-nuptial agreements and family business issues will be presented by Jim Hunnicut and Trusts and Estates will be presented by John Carraher.

The Education Subcommittee coordinated the June 2d topical luncheon on ADR in Employment. There were over 70 attendees to this excellent program.
House Bill 1183, Colorado's New Custody Legislation, has been signed by the Governor and will apply to all causes of action and motions filed on or after February 1, 1999.
A revised ADR clause is now in the standard contract
