Tip of the Week from Reba Nance
Check Gift Card Balances Online
If you’re like me, your wallet contains at least a couple of gift cards you received as presents, or as a refund for returned merchandise.

You could, of course, take the card to the individual merchant and have them scan it to see how much is left on the card, or you could spend time trying to find the website and phone number of the individual merchant to see if they have a way to check your balance. But there’s a much easier way!

Several websites now allow you to go online, choose the merchant, and then link to that merchant where you can check your balance in an instant. You can also “reload” your card or buy and sell unused and unwanted gift cards at a reduced rate.
