Business Law Institute in Vail
The Seventh Annual Business Law Institute is Aug. 10–12 at the Vail Cascade Resort and Spa. The event is co-sponsored by the Colorado Bar Association Business Law Section and the Colorado Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel.
This program includes prominent jurists, professors and practitioners who will discuss important developments of business law in Colorado and at the national level. Some program highlights:
Delaware Supreme Court Justice Myron T. Steele will share his thoughts on duties within organizations and address the question, is “good faith” a useful tool in developing an analysis of compliance with fiduciary duties in the context of corporate governance?
Sarbanes-Oxley has triggered a greater sensitivity to fiduciary duties for directors of public corporations. Cathy S. Krendl and Jill B. Sisson will provide practical and ethical advice to attorneys regarding their fiduciary responsibilities when advising directors of closely held and public corporations.
A panel will address the latest theories and trends in enforcing and defending against duties arising in the context of incorporated and unincorporated organizations. Panel members include Daniel S. Hoffman, Hon. Phillip S. Figa, Hon. Leland P. Anderson and Pamela S. Tikellis.
Attendees can learn hands-on drafting advice from some of Colorado’s leading practitioners.
There will be informative tracks in health law and in-house practice.
