DBA YLD Hosts Law Suit Days—Oct. 10–11
From 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday, Oct. 10 and 11, the DBA Young Lawyers Division will accept donations of gently used professional clothing, shoes, and accessories on the steps of the Denver City and County Building. All clothing will go to Bayaud Enterprises, Inc. Clothing should be clean and on hangers. The DBA YLD will not be able to pick up donations and cannot accept donations on other dates. If the weather is bad, the donation site will be moved inside the City and County Building. For more information, please contact Sarah Oviatt at sloviatt@gmail.com.
DBA Seniors to Roast Chuck Brega—Monday, Oct. 22

The DBA Seniors Committee will roast Chuck Brega on Monday, Oct. 22, at the University Club, 1673 Sherman St. Cocktails will be served starting at 5:15 p.m. with dinner at 6 p.m. and the roast to follow. Participate in the Spanish-Speaking Lawyers Committee Survey
The CBA’s Spanish-Speaking Lawyers Committee often fields calls for attorneys in all specialty areas; however, there is no existing database of attorneys with Spanish-speaking skills to assist with these calls. If you or your staff speaks Spanish, please complete this short survey to help identify yourself as an attorney with Spanish-speaking abilities. Gear Up for Lawyers’ League Basketball
The Lawyers Basketball League will kick off its 2013 season in January, and it is anticipated that it will be held at the University of Denver Hamilton Gym. The expected team entry fee will range from $650 to $750. Sign-up information will be sent to last year’s team captains this month; others who are interested in registering, forming, or joining a team should contact Todd Jansen at 303-337-0838 or Rob Hooke at 720-530-4279.

Denver Public Schools needs 400 substitute teachers a day. To assist with this need, the DBA partners with DPS to place attorneys in the classroom as guest teachers. There are two opportunities coming soon—Oct. 11 and 12, all day. No training required. For more information, email mbush@cobar.org.
