Volunteer Opportunities
We the People Volunteers Needed
Colorado We the People program needs your help! How does it work? Student panels research a difficult open-ended question on a constitutional principle and then “testify” in a simulated congressional hearing format before panels of three community members who act as judges. Volunteers receive training before the hearing on the criteria used in judging student performances. Students begin with a four-minute opening statement, followed by six minutes of follow-up questions from judges. Judges will hear responses to the same difficult question from four to five different schools. Email Meghan Bush for more information.
