Free Legal Assistance for Residents Affected by Colorado Wildfires
Due to the number of wildfires affecting Coloradans statewide, the Colorado Bar Association is expanding its toll-free legal helpline for victims of the High Park Fire to all Coloradans who are facing legal issues after a wildfire.
People with nonemergency legal questions related to a Colorado wildfire may call 800-332-6736. Callers will leave their information, including name, contact information, and the nature of their legal issue or question, and will be contacted by an attorney within 48 hours to answer questions or to refer them to a legal aid organization.

“It has been staggering to see how fires have been sparked and spread across the state,” said CBA President David L. Masters. “We know that families all over Colorado will have questions once they start the rebuilding process after a fire, and we as a legal community want to be there to support our neighbors.”
Attorneys will assist with questions related to issues such as property loss, insurance claims, landlord-tenant issues, replacing wills and other important legal documents, and consumer protection matters.
The El Paso County Bar Association will host Ask-A-Lawyer for victims of a wildfire from 10 a.m. to noon on July 14 at the Citadel Mall; additionally, the bar association will host Call-A-Lawyer from 5 to 7 p.m. on July 19 on KKTV Channel 11. The call-in number for Call-A-Lawyer is 719-457-8211.
