October 28, 2015 from 9am-4pm: In honor of National Pro Bono Week, the 17th Judicial District Access to Justice Committee is hosting a "Pro Se Day." On that day, we will have "Ask a Lawyer" sessions at the Adams County Justice Center.
We need attorneys to be available to discuss issues in these topics of law:
Small Claims/County Civil Money Cases
Civil Protection Orders
Estate Planning and Administration/Probate
Volunteer attorneys are needed for 90-minute blocks of time during the following time slots on Wednesday, October 28, 2015:
Morning: 9 to 10:30 and 10:30 –noon
Afternoon: 1 to 2:30 and 2:30 - 4 p.m.
This event is free and open to the public on a walk-in basis. Pro se parties will be able to sit down and discuss any of the topics listed above in fifteen minute sessions. Self Help Center staff will be available to print out forms and provide case filing information.
Please consider volunteering for this event! You can sign up for one or more sessions. As a small token of our appreciation in helping us celebrate Pro Bono Week, we will be serving coffee and bagels in the morning and lunch to all volunteer attorneys.
