Speaker: John F. Shepherd
Topic: “NEPA Litigation Update for Natural Resources Lawyers”
John F. Shepherd, a partner with Holland & Hart LLP, will address developments under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) in 2005. He will focus on new court decisions that deal with recurring NEPA issues such as EAs vs. EISs, the discussion of alternatives, cumulative impacts, mitigation measures, public comment requirements, and coalbed methane development.
Short Bio of John Shepherd:
John specializes in oil and gas, public land, and environmental law. He has substantial experience assisting companies navigate their way through the NEPA process, and in NEPA litigation, including both IBLA appeals and federal court challenges. He is the author of the NEPA chapter in the American Law of Mining Treatise (2d ed. 2003), Chapter 2 of The NEPA Litigation Guide (1999), and “Key NEPA Issues Affecting Oil and Gas Development on Federal Lands,” Rocky Mt. Min. L. Inst. 15-1 (1991). He is a graduate of Dartmouth College and the University of Denver College of Law.
The cost of the luncheon is $25.00
(seniors over 62, $21.00 and students and law clerks, $10).
