Volunteers Needed to Read with Denver Students—Two Trainings on August 20
The Denver Lawyers and Schools Committee is teaming up with Reading Partners, a national education nonprofit dedicated to improving students’ reading skills. Volunteers are needed to work one-on-one with students for 45 minutes twice a week. The committee will be hosting two, one-hour trainings on Wednesday, Aug. 20, at 8:30 a.m. and 4:40 p.m. Please RSVP to Meghan Bush if interested in getting involved.

Davis Award Nominations Sought—Deadline Monday, Sept. 1
Nominations are invited for the 2013 Richard Marden Davis Award to honor attorneys “under the age of 40 who have demonstrated excellence as a lawyer and leadership in Denver’s civic, educational, and charitable activities.” The award was established in 1992 by Davis Graham & Stubbs, the family of Dick Davis, former DBA President, and the Denver Bar Foundation to recognize successful and community-minded young attorneys in private and public practice, and to inspire new members of the Denver legal community.
