Ratification of Meeting Minutes for March 11, 2004

Committee Updates

Bylaws: The Bylaws were approved by the Board of Governors on May 8, 2004.

Legislative Policy: Andrew Horning’s Proposed Mandate was passed.

Education & Planning: Chad Perlov, currently on assignment in Australia, is very versed on the new United States/Australia Free Trade Agreement. Chad has offered to present the finer points of this Agreement to our Section. We are currently investigating combining Chad’s presentation with various CLE classes or holding an evening presentation for our Section. We are working on getting CLE credits for those who attend. If you have any related topics you would like to see covered, please notify either Chad at cperlov@nsw.gadens.com.au or Susan Larsen. This presentation will be advertised in the Colorado Lawyer and we will send out a notice to all Section members advertising the date and time of Chad’s presentation.

Web Master

The new Section Web Master is Ben Sigmond. Ben will be responsible for keeping our Section web page up to date. Ben has agreed to investigate expanding our web page from its current form. Suggestions included investigating whether or not a searchable database of Section members, including practice area(s), might be feasible. If you have any other ideas about how we could use our web page more effectively, please contact Ben.

Student Liaisons

Our Bylaws allow for two student representatives. Student representatives must be Section members. We currently have some excellent candidates, but if you know of a law student who might be interested, please contact Susan Larsen.

Annual Report

The Colorado Bar Association requires every Section to complete an Annual Report. These individual reports will help comprise the Bar Association’s Annual Report. Our Section completed, and submitted, the report to the Bar Association. The Bar Association’s Annual Report will be posted on their web page and a copy of our Section’s report is available on our web page.

CLE Credits

Our Section members get a discount on the Intellectual Property & Technology Institute CLE program being held June 24 & 25. See the Bar Association Flyer for more information.
