The YLs sponsor a variety of educational, philanthropic and social programs.
To celebrate the nationally recognized Law Day (May 1), the YLs organize a luncheon attended by members of the local bar, judiciary, and community. The luncheon features a key note speaker (with CLE credit). Past speakers have included the Attorney General, State Public Defender, Justices of the Colorado Supreme Court and U.S. District Court Judges. In conjunction with Law Day, the YLs present awards to individuals and organizations associated with the practice of law in Larimer County.
Four times a year, the YLs gather to field calls from the public, offering free legal advice and referrals to community agencies. The YLs provide pizza and refreshments to participating attorneys.
Brown Bag Seminars
The YLs sponsor FREE CLE seminars. Seminars are held at noon in the Jury Room on the second floor of the Justice Center. Topics span the spectrum of the legal profession. Watch the attorney mail boxes in the Clerk of Court's office for details about upcoming programs.
Each year Larimer County Partners, a mentoring program for at-risk youth, organizes a competition among various community organizations and businesses to raise money for its programs. The YLs raise the $1,000.00 entry fee and field a team to compete. As evidenced by our finishes in the last few years, honed athletic skills are not a prerequisite to participation.
Larimer County Practice Manual
The Manual is a guide to practicing in Larimer County that provides information on various procedures and "pet peeves" specific to the local bench and other useful reference materials.
