LARIMER COUNTY BAR ASSOCIATION
MINUTES FROM THE SEPTEMBER 7, 2004 MEETING
AT CAFÉ BLUEBIRD AT 7:05 A.M.
ATTENDING: Jeanne Drake, Ian McCargar, Mason Mitchell, Linda Miller, Dan Muffly, Randall Starr, Cathy Vlasak and David Johnson.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES: August 10, 2004 minutes were approved as modified.
TREASURER’S REPORT: Dan Muffly provided the report. No updates were received from CW Decker. The LCBA did receive a check from CBA for dues in the amount of $8,000.00.
BOARD OF GOVERNORS: Randall Starr provided the report. There will be a Board of Governors’ meeting on October 1, 2004. If anyone has an issue to be presented to the Board, they should contact Randall prior to the meeting date. Randall agreed to give a report on the Board of Governors at Term Day.
YOUNG LAWYERS: No report was given. Linda Miller will contact David Wyatt about giving a report on Term Day.
PROFESSIONALISM COMMITTEE: The committee hasn’t met yet. Linda Miller will as Eric Sunness to give a report on Term Day.
WOMEN’S BAR: No report was given. It was suggested publishing in the Messenger, the article on Judge Blair, which appeared in the Colorado Women’s Bar Association Magazine, The Advocate, in September.
PRO BONO PROGRAM: No report was given. The Board complimented Jennifer Rice on her article in the Messenger.
LIBRARY: Ian McCargar provided the report. Pete Bullard is to give the report on Term Day. Ian has tentative dates to meet with Commissioner Rennells.
NEW BUSINESS: Cathy submitted updated information to the CBA on the present officers and liaison members. This information will be posted on the CBA website.
OLD BUSINESS: The Messenger was recently distributed. There was a consensus it was well-written. The Messenger is being e-mailed to all those attorneys who have provided Cathy their e-mail address.
The Term Day events have been organized and appear to be in order. There are 12 foursomes signed up to play golf. Dan expects 80 individuals for the evening festivities.
The Budget will be submitted for approval at the October Board meeting.
